Early Years at Sutton School of Performing Arts

Creative (Age 2+)

Our Creative programme is the perfect introduction to dance. Children explore movement and rhythm through Creative Tap and Creative Ballet, developing imagination, coordination, and confidence in a fun and nurturing environment.

Minis (Age 4+)

As children grow, our Minis programme offers a wider variety of classes, including:

    •    Ballet

    •    Tap

    •    Acro

    •    Musical Theatre – a lively mix of drama, singing, and dance

Early Years Musical Theatre

Our Early Years Musical Theatre classes are a magical mix of singing, dancing, and pretend play, designed especially for little ones. Children explore their favourite songs and stories while moving, acting, and using their imagination.

Through fun games and simple routines, they build confidence, learn to work with friends, and discover the joy of performing. Whether it’s singing along to a happy tune, dancing like their favourite character, or acting out a story together, every class is full of energy, creativity, and smiles!

Early Years Tap

Our Early Years Tap classes are all about rhythm, fun, and sound! Little dancers discover how to use their feet like instruments – stamping, tapping, and shuffling along to the beat.

Through playful games and lively music, children build coordination, listening skills, and a great sense of rhythm. They love the excitement of making their own music with every step, while learning to dance with energy and confidence.

Whether it’s a happy shuffle, a big stamp, or a cheeky tap, every class is filled with laughter, movement, and lots of noisy fun!

Early Years Ballet

Our Early Years Ballet classes introduce little dancers to the magical world of ballet through music, movement, and play. Children learn basic ballet steps, explore rhythm, and express themselves through graceful movement.

With simple exercises, imaginative stories, and plenty of giggles, they build balance, coordination, and confidence – all while feeling like real dancers. Whether they’re tiptoeing like fairies, leaping like frogs, or spinning like princesses and princes, every class is full of fun and creativity.

My daughter Daisy has gained so much confidence since joining Sutton School of Performing Arts, which was exactly what she needed. The students feel like one big family, and it’s such a supportive and welcoming environment. The amazing shows they put on, including the fantastic showcase at the Lawrence Batley Theatre and the Christmas show each year, have given Daisy wonderful opportunities to grow in confidence on stage. It’s also clear that Sarah has an incredible depth of knowledge about the industry, which gives me complete trust in the classes and experiences my daughter is receiving.
